WKTV’s programming of choice, from KBS, Korea’s #1 network, has an extremely high reputation among Korean Americans. According to AC Nielsen Media Research, four out of the five top rated programs are from KBS, and American audiences can now enjoy these programs with English subtitles on all KBS programs.

With the advent of the “Korean Wave”, KBS has been realized as the largest distributor in Asia of programs to other Asian countries. It is evidence of great interest among all Asian Americans in Korean programs.

A public opinion poll conducted in 2002 showed KBS to be the most influential among the domestic press and electronic media circles. The Korean public immediately turns to KBS whenever major issues or breaking news occurs at home and abroad.

KBS enjoys continued prominence with their entertainment programs holding at least five of the top ten rated television ratings. KBS’s two networks offer our viewers the best selection of programs from both networks.

Our original programs are very popular among our viewers focusing on timely issues and events. Topical discussions with Korean political leaders, renowned musicians and community activists are the norm for our local programs.

Our educational programs explain the customs and rituals of the viewer’s community. Past topics include voter registration, high school academics, and financing options.

Our experience and reputation led the Korean Embassy to select WKTV as the exclusive television broadcaster to cover South Korean President Roh's visit to the Nation's capital.
